Güneş'in doğarken göründüğü yer, kimsenin ulaşamayacağı bir yerdir. Gözlemci ulaşmak istedikçe ondan uzaklaşır. Zülkarneyn gidebildiğine göre orası, Güneş'in sürekli göründüğü ve beyaz gecelerin yaşandığı kutup bölgesi olur. Güneş ile o topluluk arasında engel olmaması, o bölgede Güneş'in gün boyunca görülmesini engelleyecek herhangi bir şey (dağ, tepe, ormanlık, vb.) olmadığını gösterir.
