Burada geçen [bekarah] kelimesi surenin ismidir.

Kendini bilmez diye tercüme ettiğimiz "cahil", "bilmeyen" anlamına geldiği gibi "olması gerekenin aksine davranan" (Müfredat) ve "kendine hakim olamayan ({{12:33}}Yusuf 12/33{{/}})" anlamlarına da gelir.
