We gave Moses the scripture, and subsequent to him we sent other messengers, and we gave Jesus, son of Mary, profound miracles and supported him with the Holy Spirit. Is it not a fact that every time a messenger went to you with anything you disliked, your ego caused you to be arrogant? Some of them you rejected, and some of them you killed.

Surely We gave Moses the Scripture and caused a train of Messengers to follow him and then sent Jesus, the son of Mary, with Clear Proofs and supported him with the spirit of holiness.[1] But is it not true that every time a Messenger brought to you something that was not to your liking, you acted arrogantly: you called some Messengers liars and killed others?

The 'spirit of holiness' signifies the knowledge derived through revelation. It also signifies the angel Gabriel who brought this revelation. It also denotes the holy spirit of Jesus, the spirit which God had endowed with angelic character.The expression 'clear proofs' refers to those signs which are likely to convince a truth-seeking and truth-loving person that Jesus is a Prophet of God.

"Toplumları arındırıp dirilten, onlara hayat ve canlılık veren vahiyle. Ruhu'l Kudus; sıfat tamlaması değil, isim tamlamasıdır. O nedenle, sıfat tamlaması olan "kutsal ruh" anlamı doğru değildir. Doğru tanım, isim tamlaması şekliyle, "Kutsal'ın ruhu" tanımıdır. Kudus, Allah demektir. Ruh ise canlılık ve hayat veren şey demektir. Bu iki ismin bir araya getirilmesi ile oluşan isim tamlaması, "Allah'ın ruhu, Allah'ın vahyi, Allah'tan gelen bilgi" demektir. Yani, "Allah'ın toplumları dirilten, onlara hayat veren vahyi" anlamındadır. Ruh sözcüğü, Kur'an'da mecazen "vahiy" anlamında kullanılmaktadır. (59 Haşr 23)

Allah'ın Ruhu ile. Ruhu'l Kudus, "Ruh" ve "Kudus" sözcüklerinden bir araya gelmiş belirtili isim tamlamasıdır; "Kudusun Ruhu" demektir. Allah'ın Ruhu ile. Ruhu'l Kudus, "Ruh" ve "Kudus" kelimelerinden bir araya gelmiş belirtili isim tamlamasıdır; "Kudusun Ruhu" demektir. Sıfat tamlaması olarak, "Kutsal Ruh" diye anlam verilmesi doğru değildir. Kur'an'da dört yerde geçmektedir. Ruhu'l Kudus" tamlaması, "Allah'ın ruhu, Allah'ın vahyi, Allah'tan gelen bilgi anlamlarına gelmektedir.
