بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
1
اَلْحَٓاقَّةُۙ
Alhaqqa
The incontestable (event).
2
مَا الْحَٓاقَّةُۚ
Ma alhaqqa
What an incontestable (event)!
3
وَمَٓا اَدْرٰيكَ مَا الْحَٓاقَّةُۜ
Wama adraka ma alhaqqa
It is truly incontestable.
4
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ
Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bilqariAAa
Thamoud and 'Aad disbelieved in the Shocker.
5
فَاَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَاُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ
Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bittaghiya
As for Thamoud, they were annihilated by the devastating (quake).
6
وَاَمَّا عَادٌ فَاُهْلِكُوا بِر۪يحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍۙ
Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehinsarsarin AAatiya
As for 'Aad, they were annihilated by a persistent, violent storm.
7
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ اَيَّامٍۙ حُسُوماً فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ ف۪يهَا صَرْعٰىۙ كَاَنَّهُمْ اَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍۚ
Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalinwathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fataraalqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazunakhlin khawiya
He unleashed it upon them for seven nights and eight days, violently. You could see the people tossed around like decayed palm trunks.
8
فَهَلْ تَرٰى لَهُمْ مِنْ بَاقِيَةٍ
Fahal tara lahum min baqiya
Can you find any trace of them?
9
وَجَٓاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَنْ قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِۚ
Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu walmu/tafikatubilkhati-a
Pharaoh, others before him, and the sinners (of Sodom) were wicked.
10
فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَاَخَذَهُمْ اَخْذَةً رَابِيَةً
FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahumakhthatan rabiya
They disobeyed the messenger of their Lord. Consequently, He requited them a devastating requital.
11
اِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا الْمَٓاءُ حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِۙ
Inna lamma taghaalmao hamalnakum fee aljariya
The flood was devastating, so we carried you on the floating (ark).
12
لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَٓا اُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ
LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratanwataAAiyaha othunun waAAiya
We rendered it a lesson for you, that any listening ear may understand.
13
فَاِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌۙ
Fa-itha nufikha fee assoorinafkhatun wahida
When the horn is blown once.
14
وَحُمِلَتِ الْاَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً
Wahumilati al-ardu waljibalufadukkata dakkatan wahida
The earth and the mountains will be carried off and crushed; utterly crushed.
15
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُۙ
Fayawma-ithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAa
That is the day when the inevitable event will come to pass.
16
وَانْشَقَّتِ السَّمَٓاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌۙ
Wanshaqqati assamaofahiya yawma-ithin wahiya
The heaven will crack, and fall apart.
17
وَالْمَلَكُ عَلٰٓى اَرْجَٓائِهَاۜ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌۜ
Walmalaku AAala arja-ihawayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawma-ithin thamaniya
The angels will be all around, and Your Lord's dominion will then encompass eight (universes).,
18
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفٰى مِنْكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ
Yawma-ithin tuAAradoona latakhfa minkum khafiya
On that day, you will be exposed, nothing of you can be hidden.
19
فَاَمَّا مَنْ اُو۫تِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَم۪ينِه۪ فَيَقُولُ هَٓاؤُ۬مُ اقْرَؤُ۫ا كِتَابِيَهْۚ
Faamma man ootiya kitabahubiyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah
As for the one who receives his record with his right hand, he will say, "Come read my record.
20
اِنّ۪ي ظَنَنْتُ اَنّ۪ي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيَهْۚ
Innee thanantu annee mulaqinhisabiyah
"I did believe that I was going to be held accountable."
21
فَهُوَ ف۪ي ع۪يشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍۙ
Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiya
He has deserved a happy life.
22
ف۪ي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۙ
Fee jannatin AAaliya
In an exalted Paradise.
23
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ
Qutoofuha daniya
Its fruits are within reach.
24
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَن۪ٓيـٔاً بِمَٓا اَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الْاَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ
Kuloo washraboo hanee-an bimaaslaftum fee al-ayyami alkhaliya
Eat and drink happily in return for your works in days past.
25
وَاَمَّا مَنْ اُو۫تِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِه۪ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَن۪ي لَمْ اُو۫تَ كِتَابِيَهْۚ
Waamma man ootiya kitabahubishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah
As for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I never received my record.
26
وَلَمْ اَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْۚ
Walam adri ma hisabiyah
"I wish I never knew my account.
27
يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَۚ
Ya laytaha kanati alqadiya
"I wish the end had been final,"
28
مَٓا اَغْنٰى عَنّ۪ي مَالِيَهْۚ
Ma aghna AAannee maliyah
"My money cannot help me,"
29
هَلَكَ عَنّ۪ي سُلْطَانِيَهْۚ
Halaka AAannee sultaniyah
"All my power is gone."
30
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُۙ
Khuthoohu faghullooh
Take him and shackle him.
31
ثُمَّ الْجَح۪يمَ صَلُّوهُۙ
Thumma aljaheema sallooh
Then to Hell cast him.
32
ثُمَّ ف۪ي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعاً فَاسْلُكُوهُۜ
Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuhasabAAoona thiraAAan faslukooh
In a chain that is seventy arms long, tie him up.
33
اِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ الْعَظ۪يمِۙ
Innahu kana la yu/minu billahialAAatheem
For he did not believe in GOD, Most Great.
34
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الْمِسْك۪ينِۜ
Wala yahuddu AAalataAAami almiskeen
Nor did he advocate the feeding of the poor.
35
فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هٰهُنَا حَم۪يمٌۙ
Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameem
Consequently, he has no friend here.
36
وَلَا طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنْ غِسْل۪ينٍۙ
Wala taAAamun illamin ghisleen
Nor any food, except the bitter variety.
37
لَا يَأْكُلُهُٓ اِلَّا الْخَاطِؤُ۫نَ۟
La ya/kuluhu illa alkhati-oon
Food for the sinners.
38
فَلَٓا اُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَۙ
Fala oqsimu bima tubsiroon
I swear by what you see.
39
وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَۙ
Wama la tubsiroon
And what you do not see.
40
اِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَر۪يمٍۚ
Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareem
This is the utterance of an honorable messenger.
41
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍۜ قَل۪يلاً مَا تُـؤْمِنُونَۙ
Wama huwa biqawli shaAAirinqaleelan ma tu/minoon
Not the utterance of a poet; rarely do you believe.
42
وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍۜ قَل۪يلاً مَا تَذَكَّرُونَۜ
Wala biqawli kahinin qaleelanma tathakkaroon
Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed.
43
تَنْز۪يلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَم۪ينَ
Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameen
A revelation from the Lord of the universe.
44
وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْاَقَاو۪يلِۙ
Walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAdaal-aqaweel
Had he uttered any other teachings.
45
لَاَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَم۪ينِۙ
Laakhathna minhu bilyameen
We would have punished him.
46
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَت۪ينَۘ
Thumma laqataAAna minhualwateen
We would have stopped the revelations to him.
47
فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ اَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِز۪ينَ
Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeen
None of you could have helped him.
48
وَاِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِلْمُتَّق۪ينَ
Wa-innahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeen
This is a reminder for the righteous.
49
وَاِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ اَنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُكَذِّب۪ينَ
Wa-inna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeen
We know; some of you are rejectors.
50
وَاِنَّهُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْـكَافِر۪ينَ
Wa-innahu lahasratun AAala alkafireen
It is but sorrow for the disbelievers.
51
وَاِنَّهُ لَحَقُّ الْيَق۪ينِ
Wa-innahu lahaqqu alyaqeen
It is the absolute truth.
52
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظ۪يمِ
Fasabbih bismi rabbika alAAatheem
Therefore, you shall glorify the name of your Lord, Most Great.
