بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
1
اِذَا السَّمَٓاءُ انْشَقَّتْۙ
Itha assamao inshaqqat
The time will come when the sky is ruptured.
2
وَاَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْۙ
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
It will submit to its Lord and expire.
3
وَاِذَا الْاَرْضُ مُدَّتْۙ
Wa-itha al-ardu muddat
The earth will be leveled.
4
وَاَلْقَتْ مَا ف۪يهَا وَتَخَلَّتْۙ
Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat
It will eject its contents, as it erupts.
5
وَاَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْۜ
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
It will submit to its Lord and expire.
6
يَٓا اَيُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ اِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ كَدْحاً فَمُلَاق۪يهِۚ
Ya ayyuha al-insanuinnaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhanfamulaqeeh
O humans, you are irreversibly heading for a meeting with your Lord.
7
فَاَمَّا مَنْ اُو۫تِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَم۪ينِه۪ۙ
Faama man ootiya kitabahubiyameenih
As for the one who receives his record in his right hand,
8
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَاباً يَس۪يراًۙ
Fasawfa yuhasabu hisabanyaseera
His reckoning will be easy.
9
وَيَنْقَلِبُ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِه۪ مَسْرُوراًۜ
Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masroora
He will return to his people joyfully.
10
وَاَمَّا مَنْ اُو۫تِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَٓاءَ ظَهْرِه۪ۙ
Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraathahrih
As for the one who receives his record behind his back,
11
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا ثُبُوراًۙ
Fasawfa yadAAoo thuboora
He will be ridden with remorse.
12
وَيَصْلٰى سَع۪يراًۜ
Wayasla saAAeera
And will burn in Hell.
13
اِنَّهُ كَانَ ف۪ٓي اَهْلِه۪ مَسْرُوراً
Innahu kana fee ahlihi masroora
He used to act arrogantly among his people.
14
اِنَّهُ ظَنَّ اَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَۚۛ
Innahu thanna an lan yahoor
He thought that he will never be called to account.
15
بَلٰىۚۛ اِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِه۪ بَص۪يراًۜ
Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseera
Yes indeed, his Lord was Seer of him.
16
فَلَٓا اُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِۙ
Fala oqsimu bishshafaq
I solemnly swear by the rosy dusk.
17
وَالَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَۙ
Wallayli wama wasaq
And the night as it spreads.
18
وَالْقَمَرِ اِذَا اتَّسَقَۙ
Walqamari itha ittasaq
And the moon and its phases.
19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقاً عَنْ طَبَقٍۜ
Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaq
You will move from stage to stage.
20
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَۙ
Fama lahum la yu/minoon
Why do they not believe?
21
وَاِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْاٰنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَۜ
Wa-itha quri-a AAalayhimu alqur-anula yasjudoon
And when the Quran is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate.
22
بَلِ الَّذ۪ينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَۘ
Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboon
This is because those who disbelieved are rejecting (the Quran).
23
وَاللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَۘ
Wallahu aAAlamu bimayooAAoon
GOD is fully aware of their innermost thoughts.
24
فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ اَل۪يمٍۙ
Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleem
Promise them painful retribution.
25
اِلَّا الَّذ۪ينَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ اَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
Illa allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lahum ajrun ghayrumamnoon
As for those who believed and led a righteous life, they receive a recompense that is well-deserved.
